Description
It was the time for the sunset on a snowy day. The last rays of the sun were shining on some destroyed stone houses of Derekoy. These houses once belonged to some people we have never seen, but somehow know. The culture they left behind, is like a river flowing under the island. During the Turkish-Greek conflict in 70s, the people of this village were forced to leave the island. When they left, the houses did not get the maintenance they needed. First the windows were broken, then the roofs fell off, then the walls began to loose their stones and just after some 10 years it was only ruins. Yes, I know it feels like an ancient site, however, this view is just a representation of the near history.
